accuWhat is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that uses fine needles and inserts them into specific points in the body to treat numerous body ailments including pain. These specific points travel through the body on channels, called meridians. These meridians carry the vital energy of the body, called the "chi". This energy works in harmony with the body's circulatory, nervous, muscular, digestive, genitourinary and all other systems of the body. When this vital energy becomes blocked or weakened, an effect in a body system or anatomic location becomes evident. Stimulation of one or a combination of key acupuncture points on the body may restore harmony to the affected area.

How does Acupuncture work?

Traditionally, acupuncture includes the insertion of fine needles into certain points in the body. Acupuncture at Kruse-Manley Chiropractic is done in many different ways, including acupuncture without the use of needles. Acupuncture points can be stimulated in many different ways and we utilize all methods of treatment that best suits the patient and the condition that you may have.

Ear Stapling

Ear Stapling is part of an acupuncture technique, called auriculotherapy, that utilizes staples in the ears to give a constant stimulation to certain points. This is a very effective technique for people interested in quitting smoking or for weight loss. Although weight loss and smoking cessation are the most common uses of ear stapling, it is also a very effective way to reduce headaches, improve sleeping, and reduce anxiety and depression.
